The sod has been turned at the site of the Ballyjamesduff Fire Station.
Contracts were signed back in July for the project with work starting during the summer.
Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council Clifford Kelly joined Chair of Ballyjamesduff Municipal District, Trevor Smith in turning the sod on the €1.5 million project on the Rassan Road on Monday.
