The Taoiseach has committed to carrying out a review of the North-South Interconnector.
Micheal Martin announced the decision in response to Senator Robbie Gallagher at the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party meeting last night.
Local representatives across Cavan and Monaghan have continuously voiced their objection to the overgrounding of the 400kV line.

Environment Minister Eamon Ryan has previously rejected calls to review the project, but the news last night has been welcomed.
Kingscourt Councillor Clifford Kelly said Fianna Fáil members on Cavan County Council are "delighted" by the decision.
Speaking to Northern Sound News, Robbie Gallagher said the terms of the review will be published shortly.
