Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of the Shannonside Northern Sound region this aftewernoon.
Cavan, Monaghan and Longford are among 13 counties covered by the warning, which was issued at lunchtime.
Louth, Meath and Westmeath are also covered.

Met Éireann is warning of thundery showers this afternoon and evening with hail and heavy downpours bringing the risk of spot flooding.
The yellow warning is in place until 8pm tonight.
