A tourist information board in north Monaghan has been vandalised in what's been labelled a "mindless act".
The information board is at the penal cross site in the Bragan mountains and the board's Perspex screen is believed to have been damaged by stones.
Paddy Sherry, from the Knockatallon Development Association, says he was at a meeting this morning with a view to gaining funding to enhance the area.

He told Northern Sound that he left the meeting "with a lot of encouragement" but is now "disheartened" by the recent vandalism:
