Ulster Bank is set to leave Ireland after 160 years, in a decision expected to be made tonight.
The Irish Times reports NatWest, its parent company, will decide on the proposal later today and an announcement is due tomorrow.
Ulster Bank employs 2,800 staff in the Republic.

A number of branches in the Northern Sound region have closed in recent years but it still has four branches in Cavan town, Monaghan town, Ballyconnell and Ballyjamesduff.
David Hall, from the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation, says it will be a major blow if Ulster Bank leaves the country.
