A weather warning has been issued for the north and west.
The yellow alert is valid for Cavan, Monaghan, all of Connacht and Donegal between now and 9 o'clock tonight.
Met Éireann says there will be further falls of heavy rain today with localised flooding and hazardous driving conditions.

A warning is also in place for Armagh and Down in Northern Ireland.
