Gardaí have issued a warning about venturing onto frozen ponds and lakes.
Gardaí yesterday had to ask several young people to move off ice on a lake in Rossmore Park in Monaghan yesterday.
A video shared widely on social media shows one person sliding towards the middle of the lake.

Gardaí say they will be patrolling the area over the coming days but have warned of the danger of venturing onto the ice.
Local schools have been asked to warn students of the danger.
