Warning UK Brexit plan could hit local employers

Border Communities Against Brexit has warned the local area will suffer if the UK leaves the EU without a deal at the end of the year.

It comes as MPs in the UK are debating a bill which could undermine the Brexit withdrawal agreement and breach international law if passed.

The Internal Market Bill would allow the British Government to work around the part of the deal which would result in no hard border in Northern Ireland.

The move has been met with concern in Ireland with it being condemned across the political spectrum and some in Northern Ireland.

A no deal Brexit would see the introduction of tariffs on imports and exports into and out of the UK, including Northern Ireland.

It would also likely see the introduction of border checks between north and south.
