A new Irish chicken producer, based in Co Cavan, has recently launched and promises to put sustainability and animal welfare at the forefront of what it does.
"Sicín Sasta" is Irish for "Happy Chicken" and its chicken are hatched, raised, and roam free on the same farm.
They are also fed with 70% wholegrains which are sourced from local farmers and produced in a dedicated chicken-only feed mill.

Recent research has shown that almost half of chicken consumers purchase with the country of origin top of their mind, and Sicín Sasta is described as the "collective effort of Irish farmers".
