Monaghan Native Áine McGurk recently took home the High Commended Award in the Emerging New Business Category for her babywear business ‘Dainty Bear’.
The Dublin Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year Awards ceremony took place virtually and focused on the theme of the ‘power within’.
Dainty Bear was born in 2017, while Áine was on maternity leave and couldn’t easily source good quality, stylish footwear for her daughter.
She identified a gap in the market to sell high-quality stylish shoes with matching accessories for babies and toddlers online.
Áine spoke to our reporter, Diarmuid Pepper, about her award win and offered great advice for fellow females who have a fledgling business idea.
