An open letter is being sent to the Government in opposition to plans for mining in Cavan.
That was one of the results of the second Redhills Action against Mining Group meeting, held last night.
A committee was formally approved to help lead the campaign against the granting of a prospecting licence to Great Glen Resources.

The company applied for the licence in December, to look for base metals and gold and silver ore in the Redhills and Ballyhaise areas.
