Taking a positive from a surreal 2020 is the approach Cavan are taking to their historic Ulster success.

Michael Grahams side ended a 23 year wait for a senior provincial title when they overcame Donegal in the Athletic Grounds Armagh on Sunday.

Conor Maddens injury time goal crowned a 1-13 to 0-12 point win for the underdogs, who began the competition in at the preliminary round with an extra time win over Monaghan.

Speaking at a drive by celebration event on Sunday evening, county board chairman Kieran Callaghan remarked to Michael Brennan taking a positive from a surreal year was important

Having been involved in competitive action over 6 weekends with 2 league fixtures and 4 championship encounters, the panel will have this weekend away from the field, before taking on the All  Ireland champions Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday the 5th of December.
