Leona Maguire moves closer to Olympic medal positions

It has been a good morning on the greens for Irelands Leona Maguire and Stephaine Meadow as they have completed their 2nd rounds. Having opened with a bogey, Leona birdied the 4th before hitting a further 3 on 6, 7 and 8 to take the turn on 67. A further birdie on the 10th had the Cavan golfer on 5 under as she finished out her round with a bogey on the 11th and a birdie on the 18th to sign for a 67 and mover up to 11th place, 9 shots of the leader American Nelly Korda, who has taking a commanding lead after a round of 9 under adding to her 67 from yesterday. Stephaine Meadow has joined Leona in 11th place as she posted a round of 5 under with both golfers only 5 shots shy of the bronze and silver medal positions going into round 3 tomorrow.
