Maguire level par after day one at Carnoustie

Leona Maguire finished her first day at the AIG Women’s open championship even par at Carnoustie.

Olympic champion Nelly Korda along with Swede Madelene Sagstrom and Korean Sei Young Kim share the lead on five-under-par.

Maguire shot birdies on the second, seventh and the par five 12^th. The Cavan woman shot bogeys at five, the par three fourth and on 18 to finish even par.

Kildare amateur Lauren Walsh finished the day on two-over-par.
