Senior competitive club action returned to Monaghan over the weekend with the preliminary rounds of the Hurling championship.

Last year's Shield Winners Inniskeen were 3-23 to 2-09 winners over Clontibret while beaten cup finalists from 2019 Carrickmacross accounted for Monaghan Harps by 3-13 to 2-14.
