Monaghan's Division 1 survival in their own hands

Monaghan will require a win over Meath in the final round of the Allinaz national football league to ensure they maintain their Division 1 status for a 7th year.

The Farney side lost out to Kerry on Saturday by 17 points to 14 in Inniskeen to stay on 5 points.

Mayo's comfortable win over Galway yesterday (Sunday) in Tuam, will see them going into the final game against Tyrone knowing a victory there should be enough for them to stay up.

The Red hand County suffered a defeat at the hands of Donegal, and will also be looking for a victory in that encounter to avoid the drop to Division 2.

Speaking after their loss to Kerry, Seamus Mc Enaney Monaghan manager acknowledged that a relegation battle was not where they wanted to find themselves, but it was still in their hands to ensure their survival
