Monaghan and Cavan both have representation on the Lidl Ladies League teams of 2021. The Division 2 team includes Monaghan's Aoife Mc Anespie and Ellen Mc Carron as well as Cavan's Sinead Greene with Meath who were promoted and the beaten league finalists Kerry dominating the selection. Monaghan and Cavan both reached the semi finals of the competition after a steady run through the group stages. The Breffni county completed their campaign with just the one loss, that unfortunately coming in their last 4 clash to Meath who claimed the title and a promotion to Division 1. Monaghan recovered with a loss to Cavan to register wins over Armagh and Tyrone before loosing out in a free kick shoot out to Kerry in the semi final. Attention for the two teams will now turn to the All Ireland series with Monaghan away to Armagh while Cavan face Mayo in Sligo.
The Division 1 team seen the runners up Cork with 6 players, the winners Dublin with 5 and Donegal with 4. Laois who were winners of Division 3 have 7 players named, runners up Kildare have 6 while there is one each from Sligo and Wicklow. 4 Leitrim players have been named on the Division 4 team after they contested the league final against Louth who gained promotion.
Mary Alice Maguire, Sinead Tighe, Laura O'Dowd and Michelle Guckian have all been honoured with the wee county leading the way with 8 players while Offaly have 2 and Limerick 1.
